Zucker and I never went to school together, but that won’t stop me from A) inviting him to Felix Bowls, B) comparing him to Backyard Sports Characters and C) being proud the Ben Creases joke lives on. Zucker gets the Jorge comparison for a variety of reasons. First off they both have terrific length. That metric is valuable on the football field. Second, they both have a generally fancy air to them. Like Jorge totally would miss Sally Dobbs’s football game because he was in LA. Third, they both wear ties at all times. And, finally, they both have giant glasses.
Those things may or may not be accurate about Zucker. I don’t really know him all that well. In much the same way I rarely play with Jorge Garcia when I play backyard sports. But for whatever reason, when I do play with Jorge, I find myself enjoying it. Maybe it’s his nice, approachable nature or maybe it’s the fact that I am driven by an unquenchable thirst to overachieve as an immense underdog in all competitive events. You tell me ... Dad ... you made me this way! I learned from watching you!
