A Preview for the Game that I wrote on Facebook
After one of the biggest turnouts in Felixbowl history, giving the crew a massive 6 team tournament, things are heating up again for the first Felixbowl of 2012, Felixbowl X: Nuff Said. In Felixbowl X, the numbers have shrunk, the commissioner estimates 4 teams, and the rules chairman says he hopes to have 4 captains that are “out of the ordinary” for Felixbowl histories. What does this mean? Well he may not even be sure, but it does mean the teams will have a new look from years past.
In addition, the Felix Bowl seems set to have a new format this year with the 4 teams in question.
For this year’s tournament the opening rounds will be 10 minute games, round robin style. Each team plays each other team once. In these games, each team will be attempt to score as many TDs as possible. After the 3 opening rounds, the seeding for the tournament will be decided by the most total TDs only. Wins and losses will not be factored into the equation.
Then there will be a single elimination tournament to decide the champion. These games will be played to 4, win by two. Time will not be a factor. The faster you win, the longer your rest before the championship game.
The decision comes after complaints have been to the commissioner about the ability of the top seed to lose in the championship game to a team that already has a loss in the play offs. In Felixbowl history, the team that wins the loser’s bracket has won the tournament more than the team that won the winner’s bracket, so a change had to be made for fairness’s sake.
Other than this change, the general in game rules are no different. If you have any questions about either of these policies feel free to ask the rules chairman.
But there is more to this Felix Bowl then simply the new captains and new format. The Felix Bowl features some fierce competitors. Alex Fleischer started his Felix Bowl career with consistent championship appearances and wins. However, Fleischer, split up from partner in crime Ian McGrath, was denied the title in the last bowl. He has had a lot of time to think about his most recent loss and according to Direct TV, that means he is about to blow up a house out there on the field on Saturday.
Ian Leopold has been part of the Felix Bowl craze for the last few bowls, and finally tasted the sweet nectar of victory in the Thanksfelixbowl II. His abilities have risen him to perhaps the greatest player in Felix Bowl history, especially after he added the title to his trophy case of various MVP awards.
However, Ian was not the Leopold that turned heads in the most recent installment of the Felix Bowl, newbie Andy Leopold earned co MVP honors in the most recent Felix Bowl after he scored an impressive touchdown total in the teams quest for Gold. The Leopold brothers became the highest scoring brothers in Felixbowl history, beating out the Felix brothers and the Brown brothers.
The other MVP of the last game was Teddy Nam who showed up and turned heads right away with a game winning touchdown in the semi finals and an impressive performance in the championship game. He created match-up problems throughout the bowl. He and Andy became the first rookies to earn co MVP honors in the game.
The Felix Bowl, however, is usually dominated by the veterans. Mitchell Sacks, one of the best strategy men in Bowl history, Dave Lerman, one of the most acrobatic players in the game, and Jarrett Felix, one of the best sports goggle wearers ever, are all signed up to play.
Veterans Charlie Smugar, one of the hardest working players in the game, Max Massey, an energetic, powerful, football mind, Dan Johnson, a tall, Fitzgerald type with good hands and a surprisingly good arm, and Connor McCann, whose game is just as fiery as his hair are all also signed up to play and are all on the top of most sleeper pick boards in 2012.
Everyone is looking for who will be the next superstar on the scene, someone is waiting to burst out onto the scene.
The college men are joined in this bowl by some high schoolers who feel they have matured enough to take down the title in 2012. Jae Kim, fresh off a surprising track season filled with impressive times, Francis Ferruzzi, hungry as ever to prove he is not a gangly, uncoordinated runner, and Zach Hordeski and Zach Jacobs two runners with solid hands and surprising experience in these bowls.
The only question now is, who will rise to the pressure of the moment and who will fall in a crumbling heap of despair?

Gentlemen this is Felix Bowl X. Nuff said.

Results
No clue, but I'll try to piece it together. Based on some Facebook back and forth, Andy Leopold said he won his first two Felix Bowls (the second without Ian), but Ian claims he remembered it differently. It does look like Ian won a lot of games during this stretch so the odds say his team won

I know one year we went to Spark and we played one big game where we had people play some offensive line for a bit because the numbers were not big enough to go to 4 teams. Maybe this was it? Although the event says Mondauk and I'm not sure there would be much reason to move so may be it wasn't

Guys, I did too many of these from 2011 to 2013, they have all run together in my head
