FelixBowl IV: A New Hope

Date: November 26, 2010
Time: 12:30 PM
Location: Mondauk (I think it was supposed to be Sparks but we couldn't get the field)

Event Description (Facebook)
The date and time are unofficial, the exact time will be decided later.
I want to keep the numbers relatively controlled so we can hopefully finish things in a reasonable time.

As always this will be TOUCH football. No exceptions. You won't change my mind. I'm stubborn.

Additional Notes from Facebook
Apparently, I was very in to the Felix Bowl this year (as opposed to all the other years). Probably because this was my first Felix Bowl after going away to college. I posted a list of past champions (which I hope is accurate because I used it for all the Felix Bowls prior to this one) and my top 10 moments of the Felix Bowl. I also did player bios for each of the people in the Facebook event group which seems like a lot of work, yet exactly what I would do. I'll post up the bios on the player pages.

Other people likely involved: Todd Warszawski, Jae Kim (maybe?), Charlie Smugar, Justinas Paskevicius, Evan Mao, Max Massey, Rob Bonasia I think?, there were I believe 23 people as my team had 5 but the rest had 6 so we must have had a few more (looks like maybe Connor McCann and Brett Tannenbaum but could also have been Matt Sidell or Dan Johnson or a true wildcard like Randy Song)

What I Wrote in 2011's Felix Bowl, A History
The boys had now been off to college for about half a year and were all eager to make their return home and prove themselves in a Felixbowl. The field was back to its traditional muddy conditions and these certainly hindered the likes of Luke Felix and Ian Leopold, both making much anticipated debuts but without cleats. Jarrett Felix’s attempt to play quarterback and refusal to draft another quarterback really cost his team as Luke tried to put the team on his back but to no avail. Meanwhile, Leopold and Lerman couldn’t quite get over the hump as Pyfer and McGrath’s team each beat them and knocked them out of the tournament. McGrath’s team dominated the tournament with a second straight star studded cast featuring Miller, Fleischer, Sacks and Hordeski who all were/would become Felixbowl MVP candidates. McGrath’s team was not significantly challenged at any point, besides a near scare with Felix’s team. Ed Brown and Mark Pyfer played a solid game and put up a good fight, but in the end it was fate for McGrath to take down his second straight title, giving him 3 titles and tying him for the all-time record.

What I Remember Now
I remember this was the first time that my brother played in a FelixBowl and it was a while before he came back as things did not go well for Team Felix. I remember we got absolutely smoked and I think we also played a man down in this Bowl because we had uneven numbers.

If I recall, the team that won the championship was absolutely dominant. I think they had smother defense and no weak links the Zachs (Hordeski and Jacobs) both had cleats and both played excellent. I think I got their full team right, but may be mis-remembering a little detail somewhere.
